SOLD: 2016 Winnebago Travato 59G

This van is now SOLD!

2016 Travato G

We have upgraded to a 2020.5 Travato GL, so our 2016 Travato G is now available and ready for a new adventure!

It includes all of the standard features (original sticker and options included below) of the 2016 59G model with deluxe single tone Granite paint. We are the second owners, having purchased the van in May 2019.

This van has never been smoked in, however has been owned by a cat. We traveled it in part time, and for weekend excursions.

All recall work has been taken care of, and has been maintained as per recommended schedule (except for the generator – see below). Last major service was in late September 2020, and the drive train is still covered under the 5-year / 100000 mile warranty from Dodge.

We have the clear Florida paper title, no liens – ready to sign over to the new owner once funding is verified/cleared. Van currently has temp tags on that should be able to legally get the new owner to their place of registration with bill of sale and title in hand.

2016 Travato G Specs:

  • Year: 2016
  • Model: BU259G
  • Mileage: ~42,000
  • Dimensions: Length – 21′, Width – 6’8.7″, Exterior Height – 9’4″, Interior Height – 6’3″
  • Exterior Color: Granite
  • Interior: Urban w/ High Gloss Marbella
  • Chassis/Engine: Ram ProMaster 280-hp, 3.6L V6 gas
  • Tanks: Fresh 21G / Black 1 G / Gray 15G / LPG 6G / Gas 24G

Additional features can be found in the original window sticker & options page below, as well as the 2016 Travato Brochure.

And this video tour was filmed on Dec 3, 2020:

Upgrades:

  • 100w Solar Panel
  • 300w pure sine wave inverter
  • Rear and Side screen doors
  • Front & Rear Sumo Springs (October 2019)
  • Upgraded TV Swing Arm (view from bed, use as computer monitor over table, better viewing from front seats) – TV is the Jensen included with the 2020.5 models – not the computer monitor in some pictures.
  • JVC Head Unit with Apple Car Play
  • Wardrobe converted to Pantry Shelves (can be restored)
  • Tires new as of March 2020 (OEM tires swapped from our new Travato w/ 18k miles on them)
  • Winnebago stock Travato Summit/Fiamma Bike Rack can optionally be included for no extra cost, normally a $1k option. (Transferred from our new van – so you will need to source the mounting kit which is about $130 from Summit Products – 515-252-0435).
Our TV arm mod creates a GREAT workspace, and the TV can be viewed from bed.

We are huge on transparency, and we have documented our experience with this van on this blog and our YouTube channel since we purchased it.  These are the only known issues besides the normal wear & tear you’d expect on a 4+ year old camper van:

  • Generator was not run regularly by the prior owner, and came to us needing servicing and likely a carburetor rebuild/replacement. While we initially were able to get the generator running, it currently will not start. We opted not to have this addressed (~$1600 quoted by local Cumins dealer, can likely be done cheaper) as we simply don’t use the generator and didn’t want to run the generator monthly just to maintain it. With full price offer, we are offering a $2000 credit to account for this.
  • King TV Antenna removed. We used this entry point for a cellular antenna that has been removed. The roof hole has covered & sealed over with lap sealant (and an interior hole in the ceiling), so you can install whatever you wish here.
  • Upholstery already ‘cat loved’ – Bench, ottoman and front seats have some cat claw marks (photos below).
  • Spare cushions with prior owner – When we purchased the van in May 2019, the prior owner had the two extra cushions needed for the puzzle bed in storage as he never used them. We did not attempt to acquire them, as we preferred the storage space. We are in touch with the prior owner, and he has the cushions available for pick up in the coastal GA area by the new owner if desired.
  • Peeling Veneer – Some of the stick on veneer is starting to ‘curl’. We also attempted to remove a sticker over the stovetop and it peeled up some veneer (photos below,).
  • Bathroom Door – The sliding bathroom door regularly falls off the track and needs routine adjustments, gentle opening/closing and packing tape replacement at the top. This is the way the unit came to us.
  • Air Conditioner Vent Knob – The knob that diverts the rear ACs vent forward will not stay in place on its own. We use packing tape to divert the airflow forward.

Otherwise, we have taken the van out on several camping trips in the past few months with no further issues of note. We have personally driven the van nearly 12k miles over the past 18 months, and have had no issues besides the things listed above. That said, the van is sold as-is.

We have to use tape to keep the rear vent closed so we're not cooling the door?

Our 2016 Travato Page

Due to COVID, we are only showing the van in person to serious buyers – we practice masking and social distancing. We request that you already know you want a used Travato G. We are happy to do a live private video virtual inspection in advance of showing/purchase if there’s anything else you want to see before setting an appointment and/or putting down a deposit to hold the van.
