Full Time RVing Workspaces: Moreau-Cook Family

Names: Aaron, Jen, Evelyn and Leona

Website: www.moreau.us

Occupation: Aaron is a Systems Engineer for a large software corporation

RV: 2007 Forest River Georgetown 350DS (motorhome)

On the Road Since: June 2013

Workspace Goal: Behind the passenger seat of the motorhome, there was 2-3′ of space where a desk could be installed to utilize this space otherwise ‘dead’. Jen found a desk at Ikea for less than $60 that fit perfectly.

Ikea Desk installed behind passenger seat – which can still swivel while underway.
The desk seen from the side.

Aaron reports that the desk has been working out great so far, but…

“the real trick is that I also have two toddlers with us, my two daughters are 2 & 4 years old. My wife tries to keep them occupied during the day while I work. I often work at night after the girls are in bed to catch up.”

This profile is part of the Change Your Office View: Full Time RVing Workstations series – we hope that by sharing what others have been able to create in their RVs will help inspire you as to what is possible to work on the road.

We have the same motorhome, but it has the wardrobe instead of the bunks. I got the flip-up table from Camping World and install it in the same place. I turn the chair around and bingo, instant desk. Plus it folds down out of the way

Love the idea of using the captain chair for double duty. We have an old bus and are not sure we want to make room for two more chairs. Our plans are still in the early stages for our work space but seeing this is awesome!

I thought this was a fabulous dual use of space too!
