Video Edition: London Bridge

Apr 22, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard 1 Comment

London Bridge is Falling Down!

It fell down, and was purchased by the founders of Lake Havasu City – where it now stands today.

While in the area, we stopped in to see the reassembled London Bridge in a place we did not expect, on the banks of the Colorado River in Arizona.

Video Edition: Buckskin Mountain Jeep Trail

Apr 22, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard 1 Comment

When our fellow Jeep & Oliver Travel Trailer owner hosts in Lake Havasu City suggested we might enjoy The Desert Bar  – a remote grill and bar literally in the middle of nowhere outside Parker, AZ – they further suggested that we should take our 4×4 Jeeps the backway down a moderately rated off highway […]

Video Edition: Joshua Tree National Park

Apr 21, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard 1 Comment

Our last stop on our spring 2009 exodus from California was at Joshua Tree National Park, a place we both had heard lots about but had never been. It’s about 140 miles east of Los Angeles, and sits in the transition zone between the Colorado and Mohave deserts. We saw lots of wild flowers and […]

Getting Rid of All Your Stuff to Travel Full Time – Excuse #3

Apr 21, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard 12 Comments

We’re conditioned in our society to acquire stuff. Our culture and economy often seems to revolve around this quest. And no matter how large a space we have, we can easily fill that space with stuff.  It seems to be a universal law – the amount of “stuff” you have expands to fill all available […]

Video Edition: Hemet, California

Apr 19, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard Leave a Comment

We had such a lovely visit to Hemet, CA at the invitation of our hosts. They showed us a bit of the city itself and some of its highlights. Hemet went through a suburban boom over the past couple of decades, and driving in it looked like any typical suburban center complete with all the […]

Technomadic Convergence with Ben Willmore

Apr 16, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard 2 Comments

During our visit to Hemet, California we had a nomadic rendezvous with fellow technomad Ben Willmore. Ben, like us, gave up his physical home and has been traveling around full time for over 3 years now in a customized 40ft motor coach. He’s an expert photographer and Photoshop wizard, and he funds his nomadic lifestyle by giving seminars, writing books, and conducting training expeditions.

We thought it’s be interesting to talk with him about his approach to technomadism and compare notes:

Talking with Locals: Hiking in Hemet

Apr 15, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard Leave a Comment

If you get east of the hustle and bustle of the greater Los Angeles area of Southern California, you’ll find yourself in some pristine mountain hiking areas. One such area is just south of Hemet, California. Sean Mahoney, a serious hiker and local resident, talked to us a bit about some of the hiking trails […]

Travelogue: California Exodus

Apr 13, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard 1 Comment

Time Period: March 22 – April 9, 2009 Miles Driven: 991 On the morning of March 22, 2009 we pulled up the jacks in South San Francisco, hitched up and made a mad dash out of California. Well, mad dash in a nomadic sense. We didn’t actually cross the border into Arizona for another 2 […]

Video Edition: Old Gaviota Bridge

Apr 12, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard 2 Comments

On our trip south along the Pacific Coast Highway, we stopped at a scenic overlook just south of Gaviota State Park, which is just north of Santa Barbara. Intending just a break to stretch the legs and a nice ocean view, we were treated to a path that led to an old bridge no longer […]

Interviewed by “Travels with Two”

Apr 8, 2009 by Cherie Ve Ard Leave a Comment

During our visit with Melanie Waldman in Studio City, not only did we get to interview her about her neighborhood, but we also got interviewed by her about our travels. After all, do we not fit her website’s theme of travels for two? She just published her article this morning, and we think it’s fantastic. […]
