The Mobile Internet Handbook – 2014 US RVers Edition: Fully Launched!

The pre-orders arrive to be shipped! So exciting!!
The pre-orders arrive to be shipped! So exciting!!

We are so super super pleased to announce – The Mobile Internet Handbook – 2014 US RVers Edition is now available in all formats!

PDF, Kindle, iBooks and now PRINT!

That means the book is now FULLY LAUNCHED!

Creating the print edition took a little more effort than we predicted, but we wanted it done right.

We went through several rounds of tweaking and ordering proofs. The process takes a week each time to get a physical copy in our hands to approve. We finally got a version back that we were happy with and felt would delight our readers – and at last called it done!

Many thanks to Nina and Elaine for helping us get our pre-orders shipped!
Many thanks to Nina and Elaine for helping us get our pre-orders shipped!

Last week, our friends camped here with us at Cape Blanco State Park volunteered to help us package up all of the pre-orders from the funding campaign, and we happily shipped them out on Friday!

And now, the print edition is available to everyone to order on Amazon! Suggested retail price is $19.99, but Amazon will vary the price at their discretion.

This version has been beautifully & meticulously formatted for 6×9″ paperback, and comes in at 234 pages full of information on cellular, WiFi, satellite, enhancing the signal, installation tips, international travel, and more!

Compared to the 2013 print edition of just 87 pages, this is a HUGE update and expansion.

Thank you to our Supporters!

This has been a tremendous undertaking and a huge labor of love for us – the book has been the focus of our lives since May. And we really are super proud of how well the end product came out.

We’re still in a bit of disbelief at the amount of support we received during our pre-sale funding campaign that made devoting so much effort possible.

There’s just simply no way we could have afforded to take so much time away from other projects to focus on doing this book right without having had so much support in advance. It helped us set aside our own time, as well as upfront the cash to pay for professional graphics and editing. So thank you again to all of our supporters who put your trust in us to carry through with this – we, and RVers across the country, can’t thank you enough!

Now that the book is done, we’ll be putting more attention into creating content for our brand new RV Mobile Internet Resource Center.

To give you a taste, here’s some of the recent major news posts that we’ve been tracking this past month:

From the RV Mobile Internet News Center

  • Promotion: Get Double the AT&T Data on Mobile Share Value Plans – Need lots of bandwidth? AT&T is running a promotion through Oct 31 for new and existing customers to DOUBLE their data cap at no extra cost! Details within – don’t miss this!
  • Verizon Enables VoLTE — Simultaneous Voice/Data At Last! – Verizon will at long last support simultaneous voice and data usage for iPhone users, get the details here.
  • WiFiRanger Announces XT Antenna Upgrade – Want even stronger WiFi reception? WiFiRanger has a new antenna that can be added on to their Mobile Ti.  We’ll soon be releasing in-depth reviews of each of WiFiRanger’s offerings, and have this same antenna in for testing. Our report will be released first as exclusive content for our Mobile Internet Aficionado (MIA) members.
  • T-Mobile Uncarrier 7.0 “WiFi Unleashed” – T-Mobile is making up for its lack of cellular coverage by turning every open WiFi hotspot into a cell tower providing WiFi calling. Is this enough to make T-Mobile worth a closer look once again?
  • MaximumSignal’s Max Amp Mobile’ Passes FCC Inspection – We’re excited to hear of the progress on this newest mobile cellular booster, and are slated to be the first to receive one for review and testing. We’ll have our review out first for our MIA members, with a comparison to the current Wilson line-up of boosters.
  • AT&T Closing in on Verizon for LTE Coverage and Reliability – AT&T is quickly catching up to Verizon in both coverage and reliability – making them a worthwhile choice for RVers who need nationwide access.

Keep up with the latest on our News Center…

Some extra tips and info posted to our resource center:

  • Another Security Wake-Up Call — Avoid ”Insecurity” Questions! – A tip on being more secure online when setting up new user accounts.
  • The Four Major US Carriers — Which is Best for RVers? – Our run down of the 4 major carriers, and when each makes sense for RVers.
  • Wilson 4G Booster Comparisons — Sleek vs Mobile vs DT – A comparison of the specs of each of the Wilson LTE boosters RVers are choosing between. We’ve also just released a full set of test data comparing the Sleek to the Mobile for our Mobile Internet Aficionado members.

We offer a lot more on the RV Mobile Internet Resource Center.

The examples above are just a small snapshot of the content we’ve been posting, and it’ll continue to grow – expanding upon the book and keeping readers always up to date.

Be sure to check in throughout the month, join our Mobile Internet Newsletter List, add the News Center to your RSS feed, or join our RV Internet Facebook Group for alerts of relevant breaking news and content.

Aside from some general summary posts occasionally, we will generally not be posting this sort of mobile internet geekery directly on Technomadia.com anymore. So look for it on RVMobileInternet.com instead.

Mobile Internet Aficionados

We’ve also been busy writing in-depth content for our Mobile Internet Aficionado members. We’re thrilled with how many folks have signed up for our premium membership group, allowing us to take the time to do extensive testing of equipment and answer specific questions from our members.

Congrats on the book! Looking forward to picking one up.

My husband and I were hoping to meet you while you were in Cape Blanco. We live in Coos Bay. Maybe next year! Happy travels!

With all the miles you’ve covered this year, and all the projects you’ve had in the works, and completed, I stands to reason your need to take some time off for yourselves. Wow! It’s been a year and and a half in less than one! Lol!
Anyway, congrats on the release of such a massive update and expansion. Even tho it’s been a hectic time I’m sure you gotta be dealing a great sense of accomplishment as well. Rightfully so, I must add. 🙂
