February Nomads

Meet other Nomads Nomadic Lifestyle

Feb 9, 2010 by Cherie Ve Ard 5 Comments

We’ve been blessed recently to virtually encounter other inspiring folks embarking on lives of conscious intent involving nomadism. I’d like to introduce you to them:

Abandon The Cube – Mike and Lauren quit their jobs, and are traveling the world. They’re currently preparing to be part of the Mongol Rally, and are looking for sponsors.

Freely Living Life – The McLeod’s are a family of four traveling the US in an RV, roadschooling their young kids. They just started a blog to share their journey.

Activated Storytellers – Dennis and Kimberly Goza left their home in San Francisco in 1992 with their son Zephyr (who was still in diapers) to perform professionally at schools and libraries across the United States. The Goza family performed together as “The Act!vated Storytellers” since Zephyr was about 4 years old. In May of 2008, Zephyr decided to retire when he turned 18, however Dennis and Kimberly are still traveling full time  and performing via RV.

Airstream Fairtales – After 2 years splitting time between hotels, an apartment in Venice Beach and a house in San Francisco – Stu made a change. He sold his house in San Francisco, bailed on Venice Beach and bought an Airstream as his home base.

Vantramps – Mike & Heidi met much like us – online, via a vehicle forum while they were each already exploring full time life on the road as individuals. They got hitched last summer and are now embarking on travel in a class B van together.

Levity Ahead – Adolfo and Vicki are giving up their stationary life in Austin, TX and hitting the road full time in an Airstream they call the Silver Whale.

Travel Fables – Not attached to any mode of travel, Dale will don his backpack for a wilderness adventure, travel abroad or will hook up to his travel trailer and explore.

World Wide Wonderment – Jon is 33, and on a year’s leave of absence from his job to explore the world.

All of these awesome nomads have been added to our growing List of Nomads.

If you know of other nomads with blogs or are one yourself — even if you’re aspiring to be — don’t be shy about introducing yourself! We’d love to feature you in an upcoming post like this one.

I co-worker of my wife’s will be living in an RV, too … as soon as they sell their house. Looks fun.

    Hey guys!
Wow, I’ve spent a week carving a path through my inbox to reach your latest posts and am just getting up to speed. You know some truly interesting people! I’ve opened each blog in a new window and am enjoying doing that cool thing whizzing between them that only Mac users can appreciate! I honestly had no idea there were so many people out there, doing this and writing about it. I’m soon to be starting a blog myself (which is quite terrifying, especially when I see the kind of quality pages I now have open in front of me!) – so perhaps one day I’ll have something worthy of you mentioning! For now though… well, it took me enough time to clear my inbox, and here I am staring at about a hundred years of combined back-posts to read! It’s a guilty pleasure which probably qualifies more as an insidious distraction, but I’m going to call it research for now!
    Thanks guys!
    Tony

    Hey-
I live in Jupiter and wonder if you are still in the area. Me and a friend who both want to hit the road would love to have coffee…if you have time? Just a friendly visit.
