Wow, it seems like you guys are livin’ la vida loca. I’d love to be able to travel around the country like you, I’m sure there are tons of sites that you guys see. The RV looks awesome, and its totally solar powered, how much did that thing cost? Looks like you guys are headed to Black Rock city, good luck on your travels and post lots of pictures!

Hey again… Got a link for the off-road class for ya:
    http://www.offcambercrawlers.com/learn4x4/

It’s “officially” Saturday and Sunday, but we generally show up Friday evening to get camp set up so we don’t have to deal with it Saturday. The place is a pain to find, but I can lead you out there if you’re interested. It’s about an hour and a half West of DC. Feel free to tag me via email if you want more info or details.

    Ack… I forgot, there’s also Burke Lake: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/burkelake/burkecamp/
That’s not too far from a commuter train line that will take you into DC… way easier than driving. I can fill you in on the details of the commuter line if you go that route.

The commute will suck (pretty much applies to anywhere around here), but Fairfax county in northern Virginia has an RV friendly park/campground… http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/parks/lakefairfax/fairfaxcamp/
It’s pretty well known, make reservations ASAP if you want a site.

Our web goons are updating the site with the off-road class info. I’ll shoot you a link as soon as I have one. 🙂

Hey guys… we’re just outside of Washington DC and will be back from a trip to Richmond on July 13th. We’d love to treat you to dinner (one of our favorite Thai places) if you’re up for it. 😉 We *might* even have our road rig by then and I’m sure my wife would love to hear about your transition to nomadic life!

It would definitely be awesome to meet you guys while we’re in the area! My class is on Monday, so I know for sure we’ll be around Monday evening. Everything else is up in the air.

The off-roading club adventure the weekend following sounds like a lot of fun, and has us definitely intrigued! Is there somewhere with additional info on it we can peak at? We’re right now considering heading down to NC for a Burning Man regional event, or potentially rendezvousing with my folks somewhere that weekend.. so not entirely sure we can make it or not.

On a slightly related note.. do you know of any RV parks/campgrounds in the DC area that might be cheaper than $60/night? We’ve found one for the time we’re in for the class.. but having one cheaper for during the week would make it easier for us to stick around a few extra days and explore DC.
