Finding Campgrounds Resources
One of the best resources for finding campgrounds, dump stations, overnight stops and more.
And up and coming RV Park Review site, that lists public, private and boondocking areas. Our reviews for 2015+ are left here.
A crowdsourced listing (on a map!) of free campsites – generally ‘wild camping’ locations on public lands.
Harvest Hosts keeps a database of wineries, farms & museums that allows members to park overnight with them. Great experiences!
Overnight RV Parking
Extensive collection of free overnight RV parking options. The listings are curated and checked and verified. Costs $25/year, but worthwhile keeping (mention firstname.lastname@example.org and get a free month!)
Passport America Discount Camping Club
The only camping club we keep a membership in – for $39/year, you get 50% off at parks across the USA. Great for overnights while on a repositioning, or dumping/refilling tanks in-between boondocking.
RV Park Reviews
This site has the most extensive collection of RV Park Reviews (we just don’t much care for their user interface or lack of a mobile app.)
This is where we leave all our RV Park Reviews at. They have a great free mobile app for finding parks too.
Has a comprehensive listing of public campgrounds – BLM, National Forest, State Parks, etc. Great mobiles as well.
RVing Information & Resources
Bus Conversions Magazine
This community has been invaluable to us in helping us get started with our bus. And.. a magazine… about bus conversions! The magazine is under new ownership (Fall 2012), coming back to life and we’re proud contributors. Endorsed! Subscribe.
This is the emergency roadside assistance service we use – they cover our motorhome & toad. We put them to the test in June 2013, and were very impressed.
RV Tips and Ideas for the RVers – a great compilation of authors contributing to this website.
