How did a guy in California and a girl in Florida end up on the road together?? The quick answer is: the Prius (yes, the hybrid car). In early June 2006, Chris posted to the LiveJournal Prius community about trading in his 2004 Prius named “Bryd” for a Jeep Liberty to pull his new T@b trailer. Cherie had just purchased her second Prius, a 2006 named “Xara” and read his message about embarking on a nomadic life. She recognized his picture as they had friends mutually in common. And thus began months of online correspondence and eventually a first date and meeting in October 2006 on one of Cherie’s regular visits to California. The connection was quickly evident to us both and six weeks later Chris arrived in Florida at Cherie’s doorstep, where he stayed for the next several months until we both departed on a this technomadic adventure together on May 10, 2007. And thus began our transcontinental-technomadic-Prius-catalyzed-romantic-adventure..

Chris is a long-time technology geek, working in several venues of the Silicon Valley tech industry with a specialization in mobile technology. In April 2006, he gave up his apartment and launched into a technomadic lifestyle fulltime, making his life a living laboratory for mobile technology. He bought a T@B trailer, traded in his beloved hybrid vehicle and off he set. He’s done many modifications to his trailer—including installing a solar panel and lots of battery capacity.
On top of being a geek technomad.. He’s also a pilot (carrying his ultralight paramotor with him), photographer and all around adventurer.

Cherie has had wanderlust in her blood from an early age, and has always integrated in travel into her life. She runs a small software development company, and was already splitting her time between the Bay area of California and Florida before meeting Chris, and thus had a bi-coastal and mobile lifestyle already set up. At several times during her life she had contemplated becoming mobile full time, but the timing was never quite right until she met Chris and she finally made the leap. Presently, her home in Florida is up for sale, but the slow real estate market didn’t stop her from purging most of her physical possession and simplifying her life to go full-time nomadic.
On top of being technomadic and a geek, Cherie is also a conscious-living activist and fire-dancer.
Her online screenname is Serolynne—a hybrid of Serotonin (the brain chemical of happiness and joy) and Adrenalin (the brain chemical of adventure).
