I’m new to the RV World… Has anyone developed an app that will located low brifges or other obstructions along ones route? Being 13′ tall it would seem useful.

Hi Ron… we also develop iPhone apps, and specifically look for problems to solve in our own travels. We have a list of ideas, and we’re working on developing them ourselves (and have already launched State Lines and Coverage?).

Suggest looking to your own travels for things you can solve. Always the best way .. because we all know, not much money to be made in the App Store. So you might as well end up with something that solves a problem you have.

Thank you for the helpful list of existing iPhone apps. What features do you need that aren’t provided by the above list of apps?

I ask because I am an iPhone developer. I’m looking to build up a development business in the technomad style.

I currently build iPhone apps for RV park owners, but I’d like to extend my work to include an app for use by RV owners (including myself). Can you think of any features that you would like have that are not currently offered by the apps listed above?

I recommend trying the awesome free GPS application, WAZE. It’s sort of a cross between a conventional GPS, crowd sourcing and a social network.

I already had some of them, but the USPS one was definitely a badly needed one.

Here are some of the ones I use:

- TruckStops
- CTRVParks
- Gas Buddy
- Free Wi-Fi
- GPS Drive by MotionX (for driving)
- GPS MotionX (for hiking)
- Park Maps (for National Parks…it has location indicator!)
- Weather Bug (for weather forecast)
- NPR finder (to find local NPR stations)

We’ve heard that Tom Tom supports navigation without the GPS… honestly don’t know if this is a feature of CoPilot or not.
