Two years ago today – on May 10, 2007 – we embarked on our nomadic adventures together.

Chris had already been “officially nomadic” for a bit over a year, having started his solo travels in April 2006. A few months later we first connected online, and in October we met in person and started dating.

Things moved quickly, and by early 2007 the possibility of us joining together as long-term travel and life partners was too enticing not to explore.

We set out cross country that May intending the trip to be an extended trial run, certain only that we would stay together until Burning Man in August.

Things worked out, amazingly well. We left Burning Man 2007 committed to each other as life partners, and to pursuing technomadic life with each other for the long haul.

We returned to Florida last winter so that Cherie could wrap up her life as a Florida resident for good. While Cherie was working on selling her house and purging her belongings, we set out together to designing our dream home to replace the too-small-for-two 16′ T@b Clamshell that Chris had started with in 2006. We commissioned a geeked-out solar powered Oliver Travel Trailer custom built for us, and in an amazing twist of synchronicity Cherie’s Florida house sold on the exact same day that our Oliver was ready for delivery.

We hit the road again last July without ever looking back.

It’s been two years full of so many adventures, and the time has flown by so quickly. Along the way we committed to each other as life partners, started a business, helped win an election, visited loved ones, made new friends, seen amazing things, weathered many challenges, and even added a kitten to our life!

And it still feels like we’re just getting started. We see no end in sight to this life we call Technomadia.

Thank you for joining us and following along vicariously! We look forward to the years ahead!

  1. Wow, I cannot believe it has already been two years. It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago! Happy anniversary! :)

  2. Congrats you two…

Not sure Kathy and I could do it in such a small abode, but we too love working together and sharing everything (32 years in Sep) and we love our new Motorhome life.

You guys have been a real insparation and we wish you continued success both in business and in life.

    Keep the stories coming,

    Wes and Kathy Waddell

  3. Congratulations! SWMBO still thinks I’m insane for even suggesting such a thing, but you two are helping to show her that it may not be as crazy as it sounds.
