Our last stop on our spring 2009 exodus from California was at Joshua Tree National Park, a place we both had heard lots about but had never been. It’s about 140 miles east of Los Angeles, and sits in the transition zone between the Colorado and Mohave deserts. We saw lots of wild flowers and some desert blooms. We stayed overnight at the Cottonwood Campground in the southeastern part of the park.
