While at Burning Man on my deep playa art tour, I encountered a giant red phone. I really didn’t think all that much of it.. because stuff like that is kinda the more the norm than the unexpected out there.

The End of the Deep Playa

But what I didn’t expect was to encounter the The Phone Car here in Virginia City at the Camel Races.

Chris and I introduced ourselves to the driver, Hunter, of the Phone Car and ended hanging out with him late into the evening chatting about Burning Man, nomadism, phone cars and other oddities of the world. He camped in the parking lot near us overnight.

And this morning, we ‘hitched’ the Phone Car up to an Oliver for some fabulous photos!!

The Phone Car The Phone Car tows an Oliver!

Ok, how awesome and cool is *that*?!?

Virginia City has proved to a very fun and eventful stop. Perhaps today I’ll actually make it to the camel races and get pictures.
